Capitol Outdoors: Illinois Fishing & Hunting Recap 2013

Capitol Outdoors: Illinois Fishing & Hunting Recap 2013

That's it…2013 is over. It's just another year in the books and hunting season is coming to a close rapidly.  Granted, you can travel to different zones or states to continue your hunting adventure, but for some the season is over.  However, Capitol Outdoors will be attending several 2014 Illinois Hunting and Fishing Expos, so our hunting season is ending but we are just beginning to prepare for our Expo season and Year TWO of CO.  You may see some last minute photos of hunts on our Facebook  and twitter, but for the most part our season has passed.  It's easy to forget how much we've done in a years time.

Our season really never ends though, we are always preparing, planning and scouting for our next adventure.  We are already getting ready for the 2014 hunting and fishing season.

As we look back on this year we like to look at what worked and what didn't.

The best success Capitol Outdoors had this year was our ability to quickly move and set up at public hunting areas.  This mobility was due to our 'Sled'.

Waterfowl Hunting
The CO sled and ready to go with all our gear.

This sled is convenient, light weight, and is a must for every waterfowler, ice-fisher, and deer hunter.Capitol Outdoors has tried several other methods of transportation and found that this is the best way to transport all your equipment.

Illinois Fishing
CO has had adventures all across Central Illinois this year.  We did some great fishing on some local and residential ponds where Heather did extremely well.  We mainly fished for Trout, Bass, Crappie, Catfish and pan-fish.

Illinois Hunting

Our hunting season always begins with dog training around March.  Capitol Outdoors was able to team up with some amateur trainers from Southern Illinois Retriever Club, where we trained in upland game. As  always Reagan is constantly improving and educating us and can put another great season under his belt.

Capitol Outdoors continued to go hunting and fishing throughout the fall and winter months of 2013.  We are asking you to come along with us in 2014 and share some adventures.  We learned a lot from year one and are excited to bring you more adventures in year two.

From all of us at Capitol Outdoors:  Remember to enjoy the outdoors, good luck and stay safe.
