Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail Concludes the 2015 Season
The 2015 Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail came to a close last weekend at the Fox Chain of Lakes. Facing unsteady weather and water temps from 54-57 degrees, anglers set their plans knowing it was going to be a tough bite.Forty six anglers hit the water Saturday with only two Muskies being recorded. The IMTT does not weigh in their fish, they do it by measurements. The team of Michelle Hruskovich and Bob Taylor boated Muskies they measured 40.5" & 40" landing them on the top of the leader board.
Going into Sunday, weather conditions continued to change making it another tough day on the Fox Chain of Lakes. Anglers were scratching their heads and throwing their hands in the air watching the elusive fish chase their baits. There were reports of guys actually having a few on the line, only to lose them. At the end of the day Sunday no Muskies were measured.
After the two-day tournament the team of Hruskovich & Taylor were crowned 2015 IMTT State Champions.
This season's IMTT BIG FISH of the Year goes to Adam Vahl of Westmont, Illinois with a very nice 46.5" Muskie from Prairie Lake.
The IMTT is compiled of several organizations located throughout Illinois striving in Muskie Conservation. Clubs are well established and some have members up to 300 people. The Fox River Valley, Quad County Hawg Hunters and the Shawnee Muskie Hunters, are all affiliates of the IMTT and all host their own tournaments.
A big round of applause goes out to all of those that participated in the 2015 season.
