Lincoln Bass Club Hits Jim Edgar Panther Creek
This past weekend was spent on the water with my dad at Prairie Lake. We had a great time catching fish and learning the lake a little better. While out there we noticed that there was a little extra boat traffic on the water. Yep... That's right a bass tournament was going on. We chatted with a few guys on the water and then moments later watched them land a nice bass. While my dad and I fished we watched many of the anglers scatter across the lake and we decided to go watch the weigh-in.
Trent from the Lincoln Bass Club was kind enough to send in his breakdown of fishing JEPC during his two day tournament.
Congrats Trent on taking first!
August 13 - 14, 2016 Jim Edgar Panther Creek - Lincoln Bass Club
Day one was overcast and windy most the day which made for great conditions. We began the day fishing grass but quickly realized the larger fish would be deeper. After switching to my confidence bait, a strike king rage bladed jig, and adding a basstrix trailer, I made about 5 casts before setting the hook into the smaller of the two fish which weighed in at 4lbs 9 oz. Not 30 min later I landed the second.
Day two was blue bird skies and calm would which made for exceedingly tough conditions. We spent most of the morning flipping lizards into grass but caught nothing but short fish, again we looked to deeper water for keeper fish again I started throwing the bladed jig, with basstrix and caught our first keeper, which weighed in at just at 2 lbs. Dillon then switched to an outkast custom baits swimming Senko, and pegged our anchor fish weighing in just under 2 lbs. With out that second fish we would've lost the tournament.
THOSE BE MY BOYS!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery proud of my boys!!!!!! They are working towards their goals and dreams. They have had many trying times but that just slowed them down a bit. They haven't given up and I along with many others will be right there supporting them all the way.
