High School Anglers from Across Illinois Head to State Finals at Carlyle

Anticipation is jumping out of the water for high school anglers this week, especially those that have made it to State.  Having to sit in class thinking about, what to throw, where to go, and most of all if a pattern will develop and hold for the duration of the IHSA State Finals must be daunting.   I'm sure a few anglers will be on their computers or cell phones throughout the day checking out Fishidy, Youtube and anything else that will help give them the competitive edge this weekend.

These high school anglers will be heading to Carlyle Lake in South Central Illinois in hopes of catching five 12inch or bigger bass to become State Champs.  For those of you that don't know, Carlyle isn't one of Illinois' best bass fisheries.  In fact, according to 'IFishIllinois', this is a "fair" bass lake.  Add onto that the blue skies and the high 80 to 90 degree temperatures, these anglers have their work cut out for them.

These anglers have fished all season and fought for their chance to go to the State Finals.  This is their Classic,  the biggin' for these anglers and they all deserve a round of applause for making it this far.

Capitol Outdoors will be broadcasting throughout Saturday LIVE on our FB page.

Be sure to tune in and cheer on your teams.  Share with family and friends who are unable to attend.  Let's make sure that the high school anglers get the recognition they deserve.
