Wildlife Photography Exhibit Opens Feb. 2 at Dickson Mounds
Photographers Dwight Eddington (L) and Kevin Wright (R)
|
Dwight Eddington was raised in Central Illinois, and while growing up his time was spent exploring and hunting the woods near his home in rural Summum. This is where he first got the photo bug, shooting pictures with an old Kodak Instamatic. After graduating high school, Dwight enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and his first duty assignment was in Colorado. This is where Dwight took his photography to another level by purchasing his first 35mm camera and photographing the beauty and wilds of Colorado.
Throughout the years, Dwight has traveled across the United States photographing landscapes and wildlife. His love for the outdoors and wildlife has been a driving force, and his travels have given him the opportunity to meet many people that have the same passions as he does, such as Kevin Wright. Dwight has traveled to states including Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Texas in search of wildlife and nature to photograph.
Dwight’s images have been published in regional and local publications, and calendars. His work with waterfowl is to be featured in a national magazine in the near future. Some of his work has also been used by hunting companies. Dwight’s work is also available for purchase online athttps://fineartamerica.com/artists/dwight+eddington/americana
Kevin Wright is an award-winning outdoor writer and wildlife photographer working out of central Illinois. Kevin’s work has appeared in numerous publications, both national and regional. His work can also be found on a number of websites.
Kevin’s love for nature began at a wee age when his only goal in life was to see the ground hog at his grandparents’ home. Growing up, he also had ideas of being a wildlife biologist, hunting and fishing guide, or outdoor writer.
In 1991, with the aid of his new word processor, Kevin sold his first article to Midwest Outdoors magazine while living in northeast Iowa, and he soon became one of their field editors for the Iowa section of the magazine. His career as an outdoor writer had begun. He continues to have a long-running (25 years) nature column in the Canton Daily Ledger.
Some of Kevin’s work can be found in Midwest Outdoors, Adventure Sports Outdoors, Fur-Fish-Game, Upland Almanac, Outdoor Guide, Mother Earth News, Fur Taker Magazine, American Trapper and many others.
